Running from the 11 of Février to next Dimanche 20 Février 2022, Castillo is already receiving incredible praise for the writing of the story and the whole team behind this thrilling play. This ingenious story reflects upon the Maltese society and the recent political turmoil through a set of different timelines and Amanda’s personal story. To make matters worse, Emma discloses her heinous double murder to her daughter, automatically making Amanda an unwilling accomplice. Emma is obsessively interested in the death of her sister, reeling in her daughter in her own obsession. Her mother, Emma, fled away from her responsibilities as a mother and a wife after her sister Catherine tragically passed away in a bomb blast. Written by Carlos Debattista and directed by Abigail Mallia, Castillo follows Amanda, as she reunites with her estranged mother for the first time in 25 years, following her father’s recent passing. Spazju Kreattiv Commission has teamed up with Take Two and Arts Council Malta to produce and showcase a polished interpretation of the novel by the Maltese author and lecturer, Clare Azzopardi.
